Question from 2nd Grade Class about food in the winter

What did the Eastern Woodland Indians eat during the winter? There wasn't a lot of food during the winter.

  1. During the winter, they ate dried meats, and preserved nuts and berries. Maybe they ate jam! They also fished through the ice, and trapped small animals like rabbits and squirrels. Have you ever made squirrel stew?
