Veronica's Thoughts About E.W.I. Clothes
When most people think of an E.W.I's clothes they think of furs. Indians do wear furs but the furs have beautiful designs stitched in. They also use bones as hairclips.

Cormac's idea's about Wigwams
The Wigwams are a really small house smaller then a apartment but bigger then a bathroom. This complex house has one smoke hole used to get warm and when it is rainy you could close it. Both Wigwams and longhouses have frames [cloth, straw ect ]. I enjoy learning about E.W.I!

Cormac's thinking about E.W.I
E.W.I is people from a long time ago. The E.W.I love nature. The thing I hate about the indians is that they can't play soccer [foot ball]. When I heard they can't it was a bummer. I like their spears.
:) :) :)
The Eastern Woodland Indians live in wigwams and longhouses, the longhouses can get up to twenty-thirty feet tall!!!!!! If I lied in one I'd be happy, happy, happy!!!!!!

Taylor's thoughts about EWI and their homes
Hi! This is Taylor. My classmates and I are studying EWI. I think that the subject is very interesting to learn about.
The E.W.I live in two different types of houses: wigwams and longhouses.
The wigwams are more of a temporary hut than a purmenate one. It has a small smoke-hole, just so that the smoke can escape.
In class we are building wigwams with pebbles, and little twigs to build the fire. We are also learning about a wigwam's frame. The frame for a wigwam is a circle.
A longhouse is, well, a long house that holds as many as 100 Native Americans. Each family has their own compartment to sleep and live in. A long house's frame is a rectangle. It has about three smoke-holes, each above a fire.
I wonder what it would be like living in a longhouse, because it seems so crowded. Wigwams to,
seem to me to be a small space for two families to live in.
If you ever get the experience, please tell me what it was like.
thanks,
TAYLOR
Angel's thoughts about wigwams
Eastern Woodland Indian Camping
Yes, they do go on camping trips! Although their's are much different then ours. For instance, instead of tents, they have collapsible houses called wigwams. And they don't go camping just for fun. They do it to move closer to animals, so they can have food, and other reasons that have to do with surviving. Who knew that indians go camping?

GEORGIA'S IDEAS ABOUT THE DECIDUOUS FOREST
Talia's Thoughts on Longhouses
Hello,my name is Talia and I love eastern woodland Indians.
It's so amazing how they cooperate with nature and do all this fantastic stuff! Do you know that E.W.I are very good to nature because they always take the right amount? I mean they never take too much! But lots of us take more and do not care about nature at all!!
Did you know that E.W. I. live in wigwams and longhouses? Even longhouses made out of nature can be as long as a foot-ball field and as tall as 20 feet high.
A wigwam is very small and can only have one to two familys in it .
Did you know that we had a BIG war with the E.W.I a long time ago too!!!!!
It's so interesting how different they live from us.
Do you know anything about E.W.I???

Ella's ideas about e.w.i houses
Hi from ps 150 we are studying eastern woodland indians (e.w.i). So far we have learned about their house's. Their homes arent the teepees you think of from books. Their homes are dome shaped huts or long shaped ones. They live in the deciduous forest. The doom shaped huts are called wigwams they're for only for one or two families while the long shaped houses are called longhoues and they are for many families. The E.W.I wigwams are only for hunting trips wall the longhoues is not. I hope you learned about their houses.
Carolyn's ideas about longhouses and wigwams
Hello, this is the PS150 class and we're studying the Eastern Woodland Indians. Yesterday, we saw lots of pictures of longhouses and wigwams. Wigwams start with a frame, it's like the bone and the skin all around you. They layer the bark and if water tries to get in, it can't.
Do you know anything about wigwams?
-Carolyn
